Alexander J. Skokan, MD | UW Medicine

Alexander J. Skokan, MD, is a board eligible trauma and reconstructive urologist and is an Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Washington. Dr. Skokan endeavors to deliver world-class individualized care, working with patients to achieve their treatment goals and deliver the best outcome possible in all cases. He believes it is a privilege to help patients navigate the complexities of decision-making in urologic diseases. Dr. Skokan has an interest in the management of complex diseases affecting the urinary tract and male genitalia. He also has a passion for the urologic and surgical care of transgender and gender non-binary patients. Dr. Skokan has clinical expertise in the open, laparoscopic, and robotic treatment of urologic diseases. He offers care for urethral strictures, injuries to the ureter and bladder, male urinary incontinence, male sexual dysfunction, and gender affirming genitourinary surgeries. His research interests focus on trauma and its long-term effects, where he collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to improve our understanding and care of urinary tract damage in the most severely injured patients.
